Crown Weather forecasts a below-average 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, predicting 11 named storms, 5 hurricanes, and 2 major hurricanes. This outlook is primarily due to an anticipated moderate-to-strong El Niño, which will create atmospheric conditions unfavorable for storm formation. Consequently, any tropical systems that do form are expected to develop in the Atlantic north of 20N or in the Gulf.
