Local, Surinamese prison guards sworn in to strengthen operations

A group of local and fourteen Surinamese correctional officers were sworn in on Friday to strengthen operational capacity at Point Blanche Prison. Justice Minister Nathalie Tackling officiated, acknowledging delays for local officers and emphasizing the staff's crucial role. The Surinamese officers join as part of a temporary support arrangement to assist the country's prison system.
