Historic Water Well Discovered at Charles Leopold Bell School | Archaeological Investigation
This video presented by Sint Maarten archaeologist Dr. Jay Haviser, documents the discovery and planned archaeological investigation of a historic water well uncovered at the Charles Leopold Bell School in Cole Bay, Sint Maarten, under the Fostering Resilient Learning Project (FRLP).
The investigation follows the project’s Environmental and Social Management Framework and Cultural Heritage Management Plan, ensuring that historical and archaeological features are responsibly documented and preserved during reconstruction.
The Fostering Resilient Learning Project is implemented by the National Recovery Program Bureau (NRPB) on behalf of the Government of Sint Maarten, funded by the Sint Maarten Trust Fund, financed by the Government of the Netherlands, and managed by the World Bank.
