Acp-SXM Secures Immediate halt to household electricity disconnections

The Association for Consumer Protection St. Maarten (ACP-SXM) announced it reached an agreement with utility company NV GEBE, securing an immediate halt to scheduled household electricity disconnections. These disconnections were previously set to begin on Monday, June 29, 2026, impacting residents across St. Maarten. The agreement, announced from Great Bay, prevents residential customers from facing power cut-offs as initially planned by the utility provider. This resolution marks a significant development for local households, ensuring continued electricity supply for consumers who were facing disconnection and stemming from discussions between the consumer protection group and NV GEBE.
