Acting minister of vsa signs world vitiligo day statement with v.E.I.S.S. foundation

Acting Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor (VSA), Dr. Luc F.E. Mercelina, met with the Vitiligo Education and Inspiration Support Society (V.E.I.S.S.) Foundation on Monday in Great Bay. During the meeting, Minister Mercelina signed an Official Statement formally recognizing World Vitiligo Day 2026. This action reaffirms the Government of Sint Maarten’s commitment to fostering awareness, inclusion, and support for individuals living with vitiligo. Discussions focused on promoting education, increasing public awareness, and implementing strategies to reduce the social stigma often experienced by those with the condition. The Minister commended the Foundation for its ongoing efforts to enhance understanding and acceptance within the community.
