Below Average Hurricane Season Expected. 11 Storms. Five of those Hurricanes and Two Major Systems

Crown Weather forecasts a below-average 2026 hurricane season, predicting 11 named storms, 5 hurricanes, and 2 major systems. This is attributed to developing El Nino conditions, creating an unfavorable atmospheric state for deep tropical Atlantic storm formation. Any storms that do form are expected north of 20 North Latitude.
