Cbcs publishes policy note National Adaptation Plans to help translate climate change awareness into concrete actions

The Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten published a policy note urging Curaçao and Sint Maarten to turn climate-change awareness into coordinated action through National Adaptation Plans. The note outlines best practices built around framing, evaluation, governance, implementation, and development planning. It recommends clear responsibilities, stronger cross-sector coordination, communication with stakeholders and the public, sector-specific plans, budget integration, capacity building, and knowledge management. CBCS notes both countries have already begun adaptation work and can benefit from regional cooperation, Dutch Kingdom expertise, and BES island lessons. Climate resilience is also important for macroeconomic and financial stability.
