Dame Ruby Bute Short Story Contest returns with Carnival and AI theme

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport (MECYS), led by Minister Melissa Gumbs, has announced the launch of the second annual Dame Ruby Bute National Short Story Contest in Great Bay. The competition invites young writers aged 12 to 14 to participate. Participants are tasked with imagining the future of St. Maarten Carnival, with a thematic focus that includes both Carnival and artificial intelligence. This initiative aims to promote storytelling, creativity, and cultural pride among St. Maarten's youth. The contest encourages young individuals to explore their cultural identity and future visions through imaginative narratives.
