‘Drop Everything and Read’ gains wide community participation

The CLIMB Foundation announced the success of its "Drop Everything and Read SXM" book party, held on July 8 as part of the National Literacy Movement. The initiative aimed to foster greater cultural and functional literacy as a means of empowerment. Collaborating with the St. Martin Book Fair Committee, The House of Nehesi Publishers, and local authors, the foundation encouraged community members to host or attend book parties featuring works by St. Martin writers. The event saw strong community endorsement and broad participation from various sectors, including the Ombudsman and her team, Parliament, government entities, educational institutions, students, parents, community councils, businesses, residents, and visitors.
