Freegan once again highest-ranking Caribbean organization in Appeltjes van Oranje public voting round

FREEGAN placed 16th in the national online public voting round for the Appeltjes van Oranje 2026, again becoming the highest-ranking organization from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. The awards, presented by the Oranje Fonds, recognize organizations making exceptional social contributions. FREEGAN thanked supporters from St. Maarten, the Caribbean, and the Netherlands, noting strong backing despite voting difficulties. As part of the next stage, the organization has been invited to Curaçao in June to pitch to the Oranje Fonds jury. FREEGAN focuses on food security, reducing waste, coaching, education, and community support.
