Governor receives resignation letter from Minister Public Health, Social Development and Labor

Sint Maarten's Governor, Mr. Ajamu G. Baly, received the resignation letter from Mr. Richinel S.J. Brug, Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor (VSA), on June 3, 2026. The resignation followed a motion of no-confidence passed by the Parliament of Sint Maarten against Minister Brug on May 29, 2026. This action is consistent with Article 33, second paragraph, of the Constitution of Sint Maarten, which mandates a minister to make their position available upon losing parliamentary confidence. The Governor has forwarded the resignation letter to Prime Minister Mr. Luc F.E. Mercelina for further handling and advice regarding necessary follow-up actions.
