Gumbs says St. Maarten must strengthen financial laws to reduce grey-listing risk

St. Maarten's Minister of Finance, Marinka Gumbs, informed Parliament that the country is not currently on the FATF grey list. However, she warned that St. Maarten remains at risk of grey-listing without strengthening its financial supervision, anti-money laundering, payment systems, and virtual asset regulatory framework. Progress in these areas is essential to mitigate potential future financial penalties.
