Igy Marinas Receive Prestigious Blue Flag Ecolabel Certification

IGY Simpson Bay Marina and IGY Yacht Club Isle de Sol Marina in St. Maarten have been awarded the internationally recognized Blue Flag ecolabel certification. The prestigious award, a voluntary eco-label for sustainable tourism operators, was celebrated with an award ceremony in late May. The Blue Flag Program sets stringent environmental, educational, safety, and accessibility criteria. It is locally operated by Environmental Protection in the Caribbean (EPIC) Sint Maarten Foundation and overseen globally by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). The certification indicates the marinas meet high standards, promoting education, sustainability, and responsible tourism by connecting the public with their coastal environment.
