Justice Minister Tackling engages global partners on justice reform

St. Maarten’s Minister of Justice Nathalie Tackling concluded a week of engagements in Vienna, representing the country at the 35th Session of the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) from June 1-5. Minister Tackling participated in plenary meetings and held discussions with UN agencies, international experts, and Kingdom partners to advance St. Maarten's key justice priorities. A significant focus was the Detention Sector Reform Program (DSRP). Meetings with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) officials reviewed DSRP progress, discussing rehabilitation, reintegration, and staff development, among other non-infrastructure aspects of ongoing reforms.
