Man shot dead in French Quarter on Saturday night

MARIGOT--A 34-year-old man was shot dead in French Quarter on Saturday night, the Gendarmerie confirmed.
Video surveillance footage indicated the victim was at a family gathering in the district when two individuals on a scooter approached, driving past the gathering and firing at least four shots.
Commandant of the Gendarmerie Lieutenant Colonel Hugues Loyez indicated the reasons for the fatal shooting are not yet known, but gave no further information. A murder investigation has been opened to establish circumstances surrounding the fatality.
