Minister of VSA Richinel Brug announced progress on Sint Maarten’s Healthcare Professional Registrar Project, which is moving into a new phase focused on stakeholder review, system design, and legislative preparation. Completed work includes stakeholder consultations, legal analysis, comparisons with healthcare registration systems in the Dutch Kingdom and region, and visits to Aruba and Curaçao. A discovery report with proposed registry models will be shared with stakeholders in June and July 2026, followed by a consultation meeting in August. The project aims to create a transparent, effective registration system that strengthens healthcare governance, oversight, professional standards, and patient safety.
