Minister Brug Urges Employers and Employees to Respect Labor Laws and Report Abuse

Minister of VSA Richinel Brug urged employers and employees in Sint Maarten to respect labor laws following growing social media reports of alleged labor abuse and unfair worker treatment. He said concerns about unsafe working conditions, unpaid wages, intimidation, unfair dismissal, and other violations should be formally reported to the Ministry of VSA, not only shared online. Complaints can be made through the Department of Labor, the Division of Social Services and Labor Affairs, or the Labor Inspectorate. Brug emphasized mutual respect, lawful conduct, proper documentation, and the Ministry’s commitment to protecting workers’ rights.
