Minister Tackling Advances Key Justice Priorities for Sint Maarten at Un Crime Commission

Sint Maarten's Minister of Justice, Nathalie Tackling, represented the nation at the 35th Session of the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) in Vienna, Austria, from June 1-5, with engagements concluding on June 8, 2026. The Minister focused on advancing key justice priorities for Sint Maarten. A central aspect was the Detention Sector Reform Program (DSRP), with Minister Tackling meeting senior leadership of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to review program progress and discuss support for rehabilitation, reintegration, and staff development. Additionally, she engaged with international experts and Kingdom partners on border management, cybercrime, and firearms trafficking.
