Nature Foundation Sint Maarten Transitions to Two-Tier Governance Structure

Tap to zoom
The Nature Foundation Sint Maarten (NFSXM) has transitioned from a one-tier to a two-tier governance structure. This change aims to strengthen governance, accountability, and long-term sustainability, aligning the organization with international best practices for nonprofit organizations. The new model separates oversight responsibilities from daily management. The Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (DCNA) provided financial and technical support for this transition. A newly established Supervisory Board will focus on strategic oversight, while a forthcoming Managing Board will lead operational activities. This restructuring is intended to enhance the organization's transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
