Only 58.6% Gebe clients paid in May, 36.2M owed, 1,237% increase since 2022

NV GEBE, the utility company based in Philipsburg, is currently facing over Cg. 36.2 million in outstanding invoices. This substantial debt is distributed across 16,021 domestic and commercial accounts. Temporary Manager Iris Arrindell reported that only 58.6% of clients paid their invoices in May. The total amount owed reflects a significant 1,237% increase in outstanding debt compared to 2022 figures. Arrindell warned that if collection efforts do not improve, the company could experience serious financial difficulties, emphasizing the critical need for enhanced collection rates to maintain operational stability.
