Police Conducts Vehicle and Documentation Controls. 26 Vehicles Checked, Three Fines Issued

The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) conducted a traffic control on the A.J.C. Brouwers Road over the weekend of June 20, 2026. This action was taken in response to a recent increase in serious scooter and vehicle accidents, alongside firearm-related incidents. During the operation, 26 vehicles and two scooters/motorcycles were stopped and inspected for both documentation and technical compliance. As a result, three fines were issued for various observed infractions. The KPSM emphasized these controls are part of an ongoing effort to improve road safety and reduce crime across the island. Further preventative searches and vehicle controls are expected in the coming days and weeks, in accordance with firearms and narcotics legislation.
