Princess Juliana International Airport is strengthening preparedness ahead of the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season, which begins June 1. PJIAE recently held its annual Hurricane Preparedness Meeting with coordinators, managers, and operational stakeholders to review emergency procedures, department roles, communication protocols, and coordination with the national emergency response framework. Departments are also checking inventories, assessing equipment, and following storm-preparedness policies to protect staff, buildings, equipment, and essential assets. Airport officials said the goal is to reduce storm impacts, support business continuity, and resume operations safely after severe weather. Travelers are urged to stay informed and prepare in advance.
