Rebased Population Estimates and Vital Statistics for January 1, 2025

The Department of Statistics (STAT) has published rebased population estimates for Sint Maarten, effective January 1, 2025. These figures, compiled from vital statistics provided by the Civil Registry Department, have been aligned with the 2022 Population and Housing Census. This update, in adherence to international statistical practices, aims to enhance data reliability and trend accuracy, leading to revisions for earlier years' estimates as well. Sint Maarten’s population is now estimated at 42,449 on January 1, 2025, marking an approximate 0.4% increase from the prior year, with roughly 48% of this growth attributed to net migration.
