St. Maarten Students Sweep Top Awards in the After the Storm: Youth Designing Climate Resilience for the Caribbean Project

Students from St. Maarten Academy and Methodist Agogic Centre – Comprehensive Secondary Education (MAC-CSE) in St. Maarten secured all three top awards in the regional UNESCO "After the Storm: Youth Designing Climate Resilience for the Caribbean Project." The initiative challenged Caribbean youth to develop innovative, science-based solutions for climate resilience and sustainable development. The awards were presented during an online ceremony on June 18, 2026. St. Maarten Academy captured first and third places, while MAC-CSE secured second place. This made St. Maarten the sole territory among six participating Caribbean secondary schools, including institutions from Curaçao and Jamaica, to win all top honors in the competition.
