Three men sentenced to Seven years imprisonment in Defiance shooting case

The Court of First Instance sentenced R.N., J.A., and B.B. each to seven years in prison for their roles in the March 13, 2025, non-fatal shooting in Defiance Quarter. R.N. was convicted of attempted manslaughter and illegal firearm possession, while J.A. and B.B. were convicted of co-perpetrating attempted manslaughter. The court rejected self-defense arguments. R.N. must also pay Cg 7,500 in immaterial damages to victim C.P.J. The case, part of the “Calgary25” investigation, involved firearm violence in a public area and serious danger to public safety.
