Unesco supports Epic St. Maarten’s “Perpetual Plastics” initiative to reduce plastic waste and empower the community

In St. Maarten, UNESCO, through its St. Maarten National Commission, is supporting EPIC St. Maarten’s "Perpetual Plastics" initiative. This project aims to transform plastic waste into community opportunities by focusing on education, establishing recycling programs, and facilitating local production from recycled materials. The initiative also incorporates efforts for social inclusion. Its core objectives are to significantly reduce plastic waste within the environment and to empower the local community through these multifaceted approaches, ultimately seeking both environmental improvement and socio-economic benefits in the region.
