Vromi & kadaster strengthen ties with aruba on infrastructure/data management

Ministers Patrice Gumbs of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment, and Infrastructure (VROMI) from Sint Maarten, and René Herdé of Infrastructure and Telecommunication from Aruba, met to strengthen cooperation on infrastructure. The meeting, which included Sint Maarten's Kadaster Director Benjamin Ortega, discussed modernizing respective ministries and enhancing infrastructure management. This collaboration follows a March Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between VROMI and Kadaster Sint Maarten, aimed at improving data management and streamlining public services. Kadaster Sint Maarten subsequently signed a similar MOU with the Government of Aruba. The ministers emphasized utilizing proper land administration, property registration systems, and geospatial information systems (GIS) to facilitate data compilation for improved infrastructure management.
