Vromi Minister Gumbs receives housing development proposal for Belvedere North

VROMI Minister of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure, Patrice Gumbs Jr., recently received a housing development proposal for the Belvedere North area. St. Maarten student Dejon Daly presented his thesis, “Resilience through Spatial Design,” which contains the proposal. The research outlines concepts for hurricane-resilient housing and community development specifically designed for the Belvedere North region. Minister Gumbs was given a copy of Daly’s work, which focuses on enhancing the resilience of communities through considered spatial design. This submission introduces academic research into potential new approaches for sustainable and robust urban planning, aiming to improve infrastructure resilience against natural disasters.
